tilt
of the hummingbird's tail
summer flies away
five am prayer
in the sangha
of sparrows
curled up
behind the mountain
talking
in its sleep --
thunderstorm
just for a moment
the stars
louder than the crickets
twilight green
twisting
across the lawn
the garden hose
hisses
the colors of birds
streak from the banks
how soft
the waterfall sounds
as you go over
the earring I kissed
that fell off
and got lost in the rain
(how long we looked
in the flowers.. )
ears tracking
satellites across the desert
-- jackrabbit
the way hope tries out
its wings
-- baby bird
dragonfly
shows me the sun
on his wings
then flies off
to give it back
two little snakes
sitting in a tree
h - i - s - s - i - n - g
end of summer
a flock of birds
changes direction
yellow and black
hovering
from purple to purple
the soft sound
that bees make
when I'm happy
this is the poem
that flew out the door
and sat in a tree
all day
yesterday
